Ancient Greek silver tetradrachm – Antiochus II Theos (261 - 246 BC)

Obverse: Diademed head of Antiochus I to right.

Reverse: BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to left and right, monograms

Die engraver: Unknown engraver at the mint of Seleucia on the Tigris.

Minted at: Seleucia on the Tigris.

Materials and method: Struck in good quality silver from engraved dies.

Dimensions: 29 mm diameter.

Weight: 16.91 gm

Date of minting: 261 - 246 BC.

Condition: good Very Fine. Sharply struck with attractive portrait.
