Artist: Unknown. Probably made in a workshop.
 
Origin: Iran (Persia). Carpets of this design are attributed to Senneh (or Sanandaj) in the mostly Kurdish region of north west Iran.
 
Materials and method: Pile carpet. Hand spun and hand woven sheep’s wool, dyed with colours from natural dye sources. Cotton warps. Good quality glossy wool and good colour saturation.
 
Dimensions: 75 x 58 cm.
 
Date of creation: Probably beginning of the 20th century.
 
Condition: In good useable condition with good pile. No repairs. Selvedges show some signs of wear.
